The Wicked Lady

'Country Pub Collection' between Wheathampstead and Sandridge

Another neatly presented gastro affair, much more oriented towards selling a meal and wine instead of a pint. Our meal was unremarkable, and as a theme for this chain, overpriced. There seems to be an emerging trend to large price disparities in menus, tempting you to spend over £20 for the more interesting items. This doesn't make sense to me outside of a real restaurant, due to the inconsistent quality.

Situated a short drive from St Albans or Welwyn (which has the Red Lion), it makes sense to it's middle class audience that's too posh to cook on weekend nights. It's not a real pub
