The Three Horseshoes
Dependable Vintage Inns pub between Hatfield and St Albans
We overlooked this quaint Vintage Inns pub for many years and decided to visit one day. We were glad to have risked in; both enjoying excellent meals.
Since returning numerous times, we feel the food has become more hit and miss. I suspect there is one very good chef, and you need to pick the right day. They used to do lovely thick bacon with burgers and similar, but this seems to have disappeared
The beer offering is reasonable, but uninspired. Generally well kept
Service can be slow but it's relaxed and friendly.
Prices average value unless their food is on form, in which case it's the best in the area for the money. Probably best take advantage of an offer or discount scheme (e.g. Gourmet Card)
